Terms of use

Last updated 20 October 2026

These terms cover the PaceStreak websites and the app at app.pacestreak.com. PaceStreak is a free project run by its maintainer ("we" below); it has no paid plans and no advertising. These terms are written to be read. By creating an account you agree to them and to the privacy policy.

Not medical advice

PaceStreak tracks consistency. It is not a coach, a doctor or a physiotherapist, and nothing in it is medical advice. Check with a professional before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you have an injury or a health condition. Stop if something hurts. The app is built so that resting never costs you your streak: use a rest day, a freeze or a pause.

The built-in training plans, progression hints and interval timers are general suggestions for healthy adults, not a programme made for you. Skip, change or stop any session that doesn't suit you.

The same goes for everything else the app works out for you: nutrition targets, the energy-burn estimate, insights, coach cards and readiness scores are estimates from what you logged, not a diagnosis or a diet plan. Food data looked up by barcode comes from Open Food Facts, a volunteer database; check it against the label. If you have, or are recovering from, an eating disorder, talk to a professional before tracking food or weight.

Habits you're breaking, such as smoking or drinking, are tracked to help you notice and count clean days. PaceStreak is not a treatment programme. If you're struggling, contact a doctor or a local support service, and in an emergency call your local emergency number.

Your account

  • You must be 13 or older. Under 16, your account is private-only.
  • Use a real email address you control, and keep your password to yourself. New devices are asked for a code sent to that address unless you trusted them; an authenticator app or a passkey is a good idea too. Keep your recovery codes somewhere safe.
  • One person per account. Official PaceStreak accounts carry a verified mark; don't pretend to be us or anyone else.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.

Your content

Your habits, training log, notes, photos, comments and everything else you put in stay yours. You give PaceStreak permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run the service, and only to the people your settings allow. You can export everything, and deleting your account deletes it (see the privacy policy for timings).

Acceptable use

Don't use PaceStreak to:

  • harass, threaten, shame or impersonate anyone, including through comments, handles or display names;
  • post anything illegal, sexual, hateful, or that promotes self-harm or disordered eating;
  • upload content you don't have the right to share, or anything showing another person without their permission;
  • log fake sessions or implausible numbers to game challenges or leaderboards;
  • scrape, overload or attack the service, or get around its limits, privacy rules or blocks;
  • access anyone else's account or data.

If you find a security problem, report it privately to hello@pacestreak.com. We won't pursue good-faith research that respects these terms and other people's data.

Moderation

Anyone can report a person, comment, event, group or challenge. A person reviews every report. We may remove content, remove someone from leaderboards, or suspend their social features. A suspension never touches your own training log: you can still log, see your history and export it. We may close accounts used for serious or repeated abuse. Every moderation action is recorded.

The service

  • We work to keep PaceStreak running. Availability is public at status.pacestreak.com. But the service is provided as is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
  • Features will change. We'll give notice in the app before removing something you rely on, and your data can always be exported first.
  • The PaceStreak code is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, at github.com/PaceStreak; the status page and organization files are under the MIT licence. The PaceStreak name, logo and wordmark are not licensed for use by others.
  • Barcode food data is © Open Food Facts contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.
  • If the project ever has to shut down, we'll give account holders at least 30 days' notice in the app and by email, so everyone can export their data first.

Liability

PaceStreak is provided free of charge. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost data beyond what we can restore, or for injuries or health effects from training, eating or anything else you choose to do, which are your decisions. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Data. It is removed after a 30-day grace period, and signing in during that time cancels the deletion. If we close an account for abuse, we'll say why, and you can still ask for an export of your training data.

Changes to these terms

This page is versioned publicly. If a change matters, we'll tell account holders in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using PaceStreak after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, you can export your data and delete your account.
