Accountability without the comparison trap.

Training with other people works. Comparing your body to theirs doesn't. PaceStreak's social layer is built so the only thing anyone can compete on is showing up.

Nobody sees anything you didn't choose

Nothing is public by default. Your activity reaches the followers you have approved, and nobody else. Choose private and it reaches no one. Going public is an option, never a default.

Pause your social presence and you stop emitting anything to anyone, without deleting a thing.

Checked twice, every time

Visibility is checked when something happens (a private or paused account emits nothing) and again when it is read. That second check is the important one: go private, block someone or pause, and what was already out there disappears for them too. The most restrictive answer always wins.

What the feed shows

Things that happened: a session logged, a week kept, a milestone reached, a record set. You can give kudos, as one of five preset reactions, and leave plain-text comments. There are no images to upload and no links to click, which is also why nothing in it can be used to host anything under our domain.

Records that look implausible, a jump of more than 15% over your previous best, are recorded for you but never broadcast.

Crews and coaches

A group is joined with an invite code. Joining is consent to share three things with its members: your handle, your streak and this week's progress. That is what a crew is for, and nothing else crosses over.

Coaching groups add one more switch. A coach sees your actual sessions only if you turn on sharing for that group, and loses sight of them the moment you turn it off. A coach's overview of everyone they coach is built from the same check: no share, no row.

Challenges about turning up

Challenges run over a date range and count one of two things: active days, or weeks where you kept your own target. Someone training for their first 5k and someone training for their tenth marathon are playing the same game.

Leaderboards you opt into

Four boards: consistency, current streak, season XP and season records. Consistency is capped at 100% of your own plan. Records are measured against your own history. XP never scales with load. So being bigger, stronger or dishonest about a weight wins nothing.

You appear on the global boards only if you opt in. Boards among people you follow, or inside a group, show only people you can already see.

There is deliberately no board for weight lifted, distance covered, calories or anything to do with a body.

The guard rails.
